Right, it's just a personal preference.  Also the current position was
easy to code, so that's why I coded it.

But it won't just be closed.  It'll be a user preference and you'll be
free to set it to zero if you prefer.  But we currently have no
suitable preference mechanism for that.  And there are other potential
hang ups along the way, too.

I share your feeling, but also at the project level. ;^)  Lots of
stuff needs to be coded to attract new contributors, but not this ATM.
