Well, the one's you linked to with the eagles-percpective did combine it 
all, because you could zoom it into any detail and zoom out for the 
overview. Thats what I liked about them.

The circular thing which we had come up with, combines a bit of overview 
with all of detail. Its a mixture somehow. So here too, only one map is 
needed! The question is: do we need to have several nodes open at the 
same time?

Wow, this is impressing. And it did help me to imagine how, we can 
combine the social map and the geo-map. If you zoom into one, the other 
needs to change accordingly too!
