I live in Dresden (former East-Germany). And one thing that brought me
to LD was the experience of the peaceful revolution bringing down the
wall. Completely changing in just a few month what for my whole young
life had appeared to be absolutely unchangeable. For me, the huge
force in this revolution were the thousands of people "simply"
peacefully standing up for what they believed. ... still overwhelming
to remember ...

Could you still feel something of this, when you lived in Germany?
And where do you live now?

I felt it on the radio :) That is as a teenager I used to travel every year a couple of times to Eastern Europe, before the wall came down - mainly to Hungary, but also East Germany, and when on the Friday I heard the news I drove over with 5 friends, and 3 passports to Berlin. So I was more of a spectator - but got something of the spirit of the event. I live in London now - but often go to Berlin and other parts of Germany to visit friends.
